Area of Focus

Joe Perez is a Partner in Squar Milner’s Tax Services Department. Prior to joining Squar Milner, Joe was in the San Diego tax departments of Ernst & Young and PKF.  He spent the early years of his real estate tax career in the Newport Beach office of Kenneth Leventhal & Company. Joe served as an instructor for the national tax programs at these firms and has been a frequent guest speaker and panelist for several professional associations.

Business Experience

Joe has over 25 years of tax and accounting experience and has been involved in all aspects of partnership and corporate taxation, particularly involving the real estate and hospitality industries, entrepreneurial businesses and high net worth individuals.  His transactional expertise includes the planning and implementation of tax efficient structures for the acquisition, financing and disposition of real estate assets and operating businesses. Joe is also a member of NAIOP, BIA and CRF.
