Jennifer Hegg is a Principal in the Real Estate group of Squar Milner. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, communication with our clients, scheduling the work and monitoring the jobs. The majority of the clients are investors, participating land sellers, contingent lenders and developers.
The real estate department focuses on agreed-upon procedures and consulting reports for the purpose of determining if homebuilders have calculated the revenues, costs and profit on a project in compliance with a certain governing agreement. This includes Payment and Performance Agreements (“PAPA”) from a land seller to a homebuilder, operating and partnership agreements, and participating loan agreements.
Jennifer spends approximately 75% of her time either in the field at the office of a homebuilder, or in our office writing the reports. She has been with the firm since 1998 when Real Estate Services, G.P. was created. She has become the in-house expert on reading and interpreting PAPAs and other agreements.
Prior to joining Squar Milner Real Estate Services, Jennifer served as the Chief Financial Officer and Controller for TEG, an asbestos abatement contractor, and was responsible for negotiating with lenders, managing cash flow through a difficult cash shortage and managing an accounting staff.
From 1982 to 1996, Ms. Hegg was employed by IDM Corporation, a large developer, syndicator and property manager of commercial and multi-family real estate. She began her employment at IDM as a project accountant and advanced through the ranks as a Divisional Controller, Controller and for the last two years as Chief Financial Officer.
