Katherine Gough is Partner-in-Charge of Squar Milner’s Consulting practices, which include Outsourced Accounting, Forensics, Bankruptcy, and Litigation Support. She has over 35 years of extensive experience in all aspects of accounting and has served as interim CFO, COO and controller for various companies. During her 25 years at Squar Milner, Katherine has specialized in financial concerns particular to business owners, including bank relationships, start-up companies, financial reporting, risk management, HR development and accounting processes, in addition to forensic accounting, bankruptcies, receivership management, and litigation consulting. Katherine’s analytical expertise and proficiency has guided clients to successful management and assisted others in the recovery of assets in complex matters such as various Ponzi scheme and fraud investigations.
Katherine has been responsible for many of the Firm’s cases involving fraud detection and analysis, including all of the Firm’s engagements regarding Ponzi schemes. She frequently works with investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Services, U.S. Attorneys’ Office, and U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office, providing them with findings and supporting evidence for their respective investigations and prosecutions.
Prior to joining Squar Milner LLP, Katherine was a financial analyst at Olen Properties, one the largest property management companies in Orange County.
From 1981-1991, Katherine was a financial analyst at Odetics Inc., a publicly held manufacturing company.
